Today’s episode is part 1 of a keynote we gave at IBM last month.
As the exclusive corporate wellness partner for IBM we (Well-Fit, LLC.) are blessed with the opportunity to connect with their entire Silicon Valley campus each quarter on important, relevant topics that are directly associated with their health and wellbeing.
With it being the beginning of a new year and new decade we wanted to touch on topics that would really hit home and bring a new perspective to everyone’s relationship with themselves and their health.
I know we all want to live longer, healthier, more vibrant lives. Who doesn’t? But for some reason we can’t seem to make these shifts that will allow us to do so. Even though we’re afraid of dying why aren’t we doing anything about prolonging it!?
The topics we discuss in part 1 set the table for what we as humans can do TODAY if we want to add up to 14 extra years to our life!
Aging is a process. The rate at which an individual ages is largely impacted by the habits we create, the decisions we make and the environments we put ourselves in.
We go into discussing the major reasons the U.S. life expectancy has dramatically decreased in recent years.
We discuss how the quality of your food choices directly impact the quality of your life.
Did you know the secret to slowing the aging process down and getting quality sleep every night is to intentionally structure your evening routine? We all know what time we need to wake up every morning. If we wish to get 6-8 hours of quality sleep every night we know what time we need to get to sleep. But, did you know the way you wind your night down will largely determine how well we can shut our minds off? We go onto discussing some key ideas for sleeping better.
Given our audience, where everyone spends majority of their day in their offices in front of computers and digital devices we made sure we touched on how to maximize health in the workplace by incorporating a few quick and easy tips that will reignite the second half of their workday as well as lengthen their lives.
